Daddojanam aka curd rice :)


Simple dish. Full of rich creamy curd , cashews and great relish in summer especially when eaten cold from fridge. Here is the recipe
INGREDIENTS :
Rice :- 2 cups boiled well. Its okay if you over boil
Cashews :- 1/2 cup (broken to small pieces)
Anardana/pomegranate seeds :- 1/4 cup (optional)
Onions :- chopped very finely :- 1/2 cup
Green chillies :- 3-4(chopped)
Urad dal :- 1 tea spoon
Chana dal :- 1 tea spoon
Miriyalu/pepper corns :- optional(1/2 tea spoon)
Jeera:- tea spoon
Aavalu/mustard seeds :- 1 tea spoon
Curry leaves :  5-6 leaves
Coriander : for dressing
Curd : creamy curd (2 cups)
Oil : 1 tablespoon
Salt : as required
METHOD :

  1. Take a pan add oil and sizzle chana dal, urad dal, jeera ,mustard and cashew nuts. Fry them till cashews are light brown. 
  2. Add curry leaves,green chillies  and fry them for 1 more minute. Add pepper corns and fry for 1 more minute
  3. Add onions and allow them to cook until they are light brown.
  4. Now add rice ,curd and salt.
  5. Mix them very well and add anardana at the end.
  6. Have them with butter chillies and vadiyalu :)
