I am familiar wth chamadumpala/arbi fry and chamapadumpala pulusu. This curry i learned it recently when I went to my moms place. The flavor of fresh coconut and coriander makes the dish more and more mouth watery. The smell itself triggers the taste buds. Here is the recipe
INGREDIENTS :
Chamadumpalu/arbi :- 1/2 kilo
Oil : 1 tablespoon
Raw coconut : a cup
Green chillies :- 3-4
Kothimeera/coriander : a small bunch
Urad dal :- 1 teaspoon
Jeera : 1 teaspoon
Mustard seeds :- 1 teaspoon
Curry Leaves :- 5-6
Salt :- as required
turmeric :- a pinch
METHOD :
- Boil chamadumpalu/arbi in pressure cooker or directly on stove till they are cooked and peel them off their skin.
- Take a deep frying pan and add oil and allow it to heat.
- Add urad dal , jeera, mustard and allow it to splutter.
- Add boiled chamapdumpalu /arbi directly to heated oil. This gives them a bit fried texture. Do not fry them too much.
- While they fry grind together raw coconut, coriander and green chillies and this mixture frying chamadumpalu/arbi.
- Add salt and turmeric to the pan and close the lid, allow it to simmer for 5-7 minutes. Keep mixing in the middle to avoid sticking to the pan. careful while mixing make sure curry doesn't become paste.
- Have it with hot rice :).
