Mamidikaya Curry


Summer reminds me of always two beautiful things one being mamidikaya aka mangoes(both raw and ripe) other being jasmine flowers (mallepoolu) . I don't miss anyone of them even for 1 day. With raw mangoes of various varieties everywhere who can resist themselves ? :D This curry is made of kobbari mamidikayalu .These are basically the type which are not too much sour. They can be eaten raw too with little salt and chilli powder. Here is the recipe
INGREDIENTS :
Kobbari mamidikaya :- 2 large (chopped into pieces)
Coconut :- finely scraped (1 cup)
Tomato :- 1 large (chopped  to pieces)
Green chillies: - -4(Adjust , chop them)
Salt :- as required
Jaggery :  small piece (optional)
Karivepaku/curry leaves) : 4-5
Oil : as required
Turmeric :- a pinch
For popu/Tadka/Seasoning :-
Jeera :- a teaspoon
Urad dal :- tea spoon
Chana dal : tea spoon
Mustard seeds/aavalu :- tea spoon
Red Chillies :- 2-3
METHOD:- 
  1. Take a frying pan add oil and heat it. Add all the seasoning ingredients and allow them to splutter.
  2. Add curry leaves and green chillies and fry them for a minute or so.
  3. Add mango pieces and tomato pieces.
  4. Add salt and bit water.
  5. Cover with a lid and cook until mango pieces are soft .
  6. Add turmeric , jaggery and coconut scrape and simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  7. Server hot with rotis or rice :)
