Try this plain chana curry with hot rotis :).Nice delight !!
INGREDIENTS :-
Chana;-1 cup(soaked in water over night )
Aloo :- cut into small pieces (a cup)
Jeera :- 2 tea spoons
Coriander seeds :- 2 tea spoons
Pepper :- 1/2 tea spoon
Coconut :- small piece (ground into fine coarse powder)
Green chillies :- 4-5 (cut into small pieces)
Garam masala powder :- a spoon
Salt :- as required
Oil :- 1 tablespoon
Coriander :- chopped (for garnishing)
Tomatoes :- chopped(2 cups)
Turmeric:- a pinch
For Seasoning :-
Pachisenaga pappu/chana dal: - 1 teaspoon
Minapappu /Urad dal: - 1 teaspoon
Jeera: - ½ teaspoon
Mustard: - ½ teaspoon
METHOD :-- Dry roast jeera and coriander seeds,pepper .Ground them into fine powder.
- Take a pressure pan, add oil into it. Add all the seasoning ingredients and allow them to splutter.
- Add green chillies and fry them well.Add tomatoes and allow them to cook till the juices come out.
- Add aloo pieces and soaked chana.Add grounded jeera-coriander-pepper powder and garam masala and coconut powder and pinch of turmeric.
- Close the pressure pan lid and allow to cook until three whistles .
- Simmer for few minutes and garnish with coriander.
