Spicy pineapple boat ---fruit salad


Hubby is on strict diet. I make sure we have salad everyday at dinner. :-) Saw this delicious salad in sanjeevkapoor.com Added a little variation. It tastes just awesome. It is very much suitable for candle light dinners.
INGREDIENTS:-
You can basically add any fruit except too pulpy ones J
Apples:  - 2 cups ( chop apple into small pieces)
Pineapple:  - 1 medium sized one (don’t chop it now...we can chop this later)
Guava:  - 1 medium sizes (chopped finely)
Pomegranate:  - 1 cup
Salt:  - as required
Oranges:  - 1 Cup (de-seeded)
Lemon juice:  - ½ cup
Kala namak:  - ½ teaspoon (Can be varied according to taste)
Grounded red chillies(not into powder) :  -1 tablespoon (Or)
Crushed garlic pods:  - 3-4(even this is optional)
Olive Oil :- ½ tablespoon
METHOD:-
  1. Cut pineapple into two halves longitudinal.
  2. Scoop out pineapple pulp leaving outer shell as boat.
  3. Cut the scooped part into ½ inch pieces.
  4. Now in a mixing bowl add all the ingredients except garlic pods, olive oil and ground red chilly.
  5. Heat olive oil sizzle garlic pods and ground red chilly.
  6. Add this into mixing bowl and mix well the fruit salad.
  7. Arrange the mixed fruit salad in the two shells of pineapple boats.
  8. Decorate it with olives or coriander or orange pieces.
Variation ( You can mix mayonnaise or fresh cream too).
It tastes YUMMY!!!!!
